Mindy Block is back leading hikes for the Long Island Greenbelt Conference. With more than twenty years of experience exploring the Pine Barrens and its trails, she'll be guiding outdoor enthusiasts once again, while touching upon the lessons she learned as a firefighter in the making of SUNRISE FIRE.
SUNRISE FIRE deals with the many aspects of fire and firefighting to protect life, property, and the environment. The book took over four years to produce with over forty volunteers contributing to its telling. "We worked together, balancing content and character, to create a fictional story based on real life challenges,"
The purpose of this book fundraiser is to raise funds for charities. Sunrise Fire's suggested retail price is $24.95; discounted to hike attendees to $20. Partial proceeds will be donated back to the Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference (after Mindy's book orders expenses are covered)."
Each of the following hikes has been designed to cover various aspects of SUNRISE FIRE. A preview of this book can be found at: http://qualityparks.org/
