In the month of March-09, Tigress shifted from Bandhavgarh and Kanha National Park. It is a welcome decision of Forest Department of Madhya Pradesh although it is opposed by local residents and Resort operators of Kanha and Bandhavgarh National Parks.
Since dis-appearence of Tigers from Panna National Park, tourists use to skip this national park and moves straight to Bandhavgarh National Park due to which in peak seasons of December, tourists over-crowded in Bandhavgarh National Park. Also it puts burden of Transport cost(from Khajuraho to Bandhavgarh)
It is also a chance for Madhya Pradesh Forest Department to rectify its past-mistakes of ignoring the dis-appearence of tigers from forest of Panna. Here Forest Department should be very concious in its attempt to rehabilitate tigers in Panna National Park. At the same time it will be intresting to see how tigres now adapt themselves in circumstances of Panna National Park.
So coming time will clarify how serious is Madhya Pradesh Forest Department in its Tiger conservation move and anti-poaching move. In short we can say it is a litmus test of Forest Department.
