March 22, 2009 - PRLog -- In continuation of National Women’s History Month events, on Wednesday, March 25th, from 7:00PM to 8:30PM, the Randolph Library, 28 Calais Road, Randolph, New Jersey, presents a special art exhibit and talk by Soraida Martinez, creator of Verdadism.

Soraida is an artist/writer/social advocate who since 1992 has been internationally
recognized for Verdadism, a unique art style that advances peace, tolerance and social
change through paintings with written social commentaries. Some of the themes that the
artist addresses are racism, sexism, stereotyping,  ethnocentrism, feminism, personal
relationships, healthcare and the social issues that affect 21st century American society.

The reason for Soraida’s Verdadism exhibition is to create awareness of humanity
through art and words that foster open-mindedness and acceptance of the differences in all human beings. The artist has appeared at major universities, corporations and institutions throughout the northeast. She is also the author of a book on the art of Verdadism entitled, “Soraida’s Verdadism: The Intellectual Voice of a Puerto Rican Woman on Canvas; Unique, Controversial Images and Style.” The artist has received accolades from educational and governmental organizations for her socially conscious art and social statements.

Registration is necessary for this Verdadism Exhibition and Art Talk. To register, please visit http://evanced.info/randolph/evanced/eventcalendar.asp or call 973-895-3556.
