According to Mireille, “Nothing is worse than bringing back holiday memories in the form of unwanted fat storage in trouble spot areas that makes you feel sluggish, bloated, and unattractive.”
Below are Mireille’s top 3 travel fitness tips to help you come back from your holiday looking and feeling great!
Fit Traveler Tip#1- Commit to Performing Short 10-20 Minute Workouts First Thing In The Morning
Just because you are holidaying does not mean you cannot find time to exercise. We can all find at least 10-20 minutes to exercise before we start our day. A brief workout first thing in the morning will set the tone for the rest of your day. Not only will this workout give you the energy you need for the day, but it will also help minimize the impact if you to decide to indulge in some foods that deviate from your nutrition plan.
Fit Traveler Tip#2- Use Body Weight That You Can Do Anywhere
There is no need to lug your dumbbells around in your suitcase. All you’ll need is your body to get the job done. Body weight based exercises allow for some much needed rest and de-loading for the muscles and joints, in addition to the fact that it can go through customs when you are holidaying!
Fit Traveler Tip#3- Bring Compact Fat-Burning Snacks
This may very well be the most important tip of all. When you are at home it is much easier to choose healthy snacks but when you are go your holiday, we all choose the foods that are most convenient, affordable, and accessible. Some great ideas for travel snacks are mixed raw nuts (almonds, cashews, pistachios, pecans, walnuts, etc.), string cheese, fruit and raw veggies. Use these fat-burning, muscle-building foods to stay full and leave less room for all of the other junk food options that surround us all on a daily basis. They don't take up much room in your back pack and also taste great too!
