New Certification Program Targets Service Industry Professionals in the UAE

Dubai, UAE  – A new certification program for service industry professionals begins April 26 in Dubai. The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt program, sponsored by Innovation 360 Institute, is a two-week course that teaches participants how to solve common business problems using a systematic methodology called Lean Six Sigma.

The program also aims to enhance participants’ leadership competencies including the ability to manage change, think creatively and inspire others to work more efficiently.

Dubai alone reports more than 300,000 Nationals and non-locals are employed by the service industry. This includes healthcare, finance and other business professionals; tourism, hospitality and retail employees; and government officials.

“Given the industries that are prevalent here – finance, tourism, retail – the UAE needs a specialized program for service industry professionals,” said Innovation 360 CEO Kamal Hassan. “A process is a process, but presenting the lessons in a familiar context makes it easier for participants to go back to the office and put to use what they learned in class.”

Lean Six Sigma is a recent merging of Lean process efficiency principles and the Six Sigma statistical problem-solving methodology. Although both systems first took hold in the manufacturing industry, in the past decade they have been widely adopted by transactional, or service-based, organizations in many different industries.

Innovation 360’s Lean Six Sigma Green Belt program includes 10 days (two weeks) of instruction. In addition, program participants receive mentoring and support in between class sessions via an online system available 24/7. To become certified, participants must complete a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt project and pass a written exam.

The upcoming course runs April 26-30 (week 1) and continues June 7-11 (week 2). Both sessions will be held in Dubai, UAE.
