Travel Insurance claim was paid to one of AIG Pakistan's customers. The insured, during her visit to the US, had pain in her stomach and was taken to the hospital. There she was diagnosed as a case of pancreatitis with multiple stones in gall bladder. The case was brought to the knowledge of AIG Travel Assist, who coordinated with the hospital and made sure that best possible treatment be given to the patient during hospitalization. Total amount incurred on her treatment was US$58,533. Invoice was directly settled with the hospital by AIG Travel Assist and insured, at any stage, did not experience any hassle regarding payment.
In another instance, a customer had purchased a travel policy before his trip to Canada. During his trip, the insured had a heart attack. He was hospitalized for necessary treatment. Physician had advised him not to travel but since he had to come back to Pakistan, special evacuation was arranged for him. Since our policy covers medical evacuation also, all the expenses incurred on evacuation process along with the other medical expenses, total of about US$50,000 were directly paid to the service providers (hospital & evacuation service) by AIG Travel Assist.
