March 18, 2009 - PRLog -- Using sophisticated monitoring technology Policymonitor.ca staff are able to report on routine government announcements, consultations, legislation, organizational change and other opportunities for participation in government policy development.  Each Policymonitor.ca post contains a link directly to the originating government or stakeholder information source.

Policymonitor.ca scans thousands of government and stakeholder web pages to find the latest policy information that we think is relevant to a particular policy sector.  We do not add opinion or analysis through this service.  It is simply our effort to provide notification of information freely available but widely cast across the multiple layers of Canadian government jurisdictions.

Users can check the site often or sign up for an RSS feed for a specific area of policy interest.  Alternatively, users can click on a tag inside a post such as “Energy,” or “New Brunswick” to see items according to policy theme or jurisdiction.

The internet, freedom of information laws and an increased focus on stakeholder consultation has transformed how Canadian governments make public policy.  In most cases governments actively seek input from organizations with an interest in a specific policy sector.  However, there is now so much information coming out of Canadian governments and related stakeholder groups that it is useful to compile and assess this information in a systematic manner.

Policymonitor.ca is operated by Keith Bell and Associates Ltd. (KBA) a government relations consulting firm based in Victoria, British Columbia.  KBA has 25 years of highly successful government relations experience.  We adhere to a research based non-partisan approach to government affairs.

KBA is available to undertake targeted research projects.  These can be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.  Keith Bell is also available to assist with government relations seminars and training.
