Practice Greenhealth has united with the Teleosis Institute to help transform healthcare into a model for sustainability. Teleosis brings to Practice Greenhealth the additional focus of providing services for clinics and medical offices, as well as training services for health care leaders in the form of its’ unique “Leadership in Green Health Care” online course. Teleosis, a non-profit organization based in Berkeley, California will be folded into the suite of service programs offered by Practice Greenhealth. Both organizations provide solutions and management assistance to the health care community in developing sustainable practices.
“The addition of Teleosis to the Practice Greenhealth family opens up exciting new opportunities for thought leadership and workable solutions,” stated Bob Jarboe, Executive Director of Practice Greenhealth. “The efforts by Teleosis in working with private practices, group practices, clinics and other smaller health care facilities and health-related businesses have expanded the reach and potential for reductions in environmental footprints and we are extremely pleased that we’re able to expand our services to these groups.”
The value of merging the two leading organizations in green health care will be in furthering programmatic synergies, as well as supporting the Teleosis model of health professionals serving as environmental educators, advocates and stewards. Once trained in sustainability practices, these professionals will have a greater positive impact when working in Practice Greenhealth member hospitals.
“We are thrilled to be part of Practice Greenhealth and we are looking forward to growing our programs under their umbrella,” stated Teleosis founder Dr. Joel Kreisberg. “The two organizations will function in concert developing new tools and new sustainability programs for the broader health care community.”
Teleosis was founded in 2004 by Joel Kreisberg, DC, MA. In addition to his work with Teleosis, Dr. Kreisberg is an adjunct faculty member of John F. Kennedy University’s Graduate School of Holistic Studies. Dr. Kreisberg who is widely published will be a frequent contributor to Practice Greenhealth publications, in addition to leading the Teleosis program.
