Whispers From Our Universe – The Series, A Titillating New Series By Edward Longo

The twelve paintings of this series were prepared by first using the artist’s established MAC Knife Technique ™ to carve random grooves into  each of the 32 x 40 inch foam boards. Then, the paintings were completed by creatively brushing acrylic paints over the surface until, one painting per day, the first twelve paintings were created to produce this titillating new series. The plan is to create additional paintings until an undisclosed number of paintings are produced. The second set of twelve paintings as planned for next series will be titled Organic Interludes of Spring.

WHISPERS FROM OUR UNIVERSE – THE NOVEL:  

What's Inside this New Novel:
During the creation of his twelve vibrant paintings abstract expressionist Edward Longo began referring to his inspirational images as, Divine Interventions of The Gods. In producing one painting a day for 12 consecutive days, Longo not only began feeling empowered, he became so highly motivated he continued to focus on the images until bringing his artistic prose and penchant for writing to a new level. It was actually this series of paintings that influenced him to go a step further to create his novel, consisting of
A ‘Reader’s Digest’ Gathering of Scientific Terms and Astronomical Explanations Regarding the Evolutions and the Origins of Our Universe.
As the idea began to formulate in his head, the artist, thinking now as author, began to see how he could feasibly develop an entire chapter for each of the twelve paintings. As the text began to unfold Longo decided to incorporate his knack of poetry in combination with the scientific language as the knowledge unfolded. The word “unfolded” is used here because the author does not claim to be a scientist, rather he has skillfully learned to apply his knack of research gathering and composite fact-finding, in tandem with artistic presentation.
In spite of the explanations provided by scientists, environmentalists, physicists and engineers regarding global warming, and the astrophysical developments affecting our universe it is difficult to make sense of it all. In this poetic, prose-like, informative "Reader's-Digest" manner Longo offers an artistic and colorful presentation while attempting to provide a logical understanding of the origin, the evolution and the way things work in the universe. This is especially true regarding WHISPERS of The Big Bang, and other events affecting the planetary system within our mother galaxy, The Milky Way.

OUR UNIVERSE: In spite of the knowledge provided by scientists and environmentalists regarding global warming and the catastrophic events affecting our planet it is difficult to make sense of it all. In this poetic, prose-like, informative "Reader's-Digest" manner Longo offers an artistic and colorful presentation while attempting to maintain a logical understanding of how things work in the universe. This is especially true regarding events affecting the planetary system within our mother galaxy, The Milky Way. From Earth, without telescopic aid, the band of the Milky Way appears as a bright and hazy region of light encircling the sky. Many ancient cultures seem to have imagined it as a stream of various kinds. The Egyptians saw it as a river, perhaps the celestial embodiment of the River Nile. The Greeks imagined it as a stream of milk, and from that conception comes our modern term, "Milky Way."

WHISPER: Of particular importance is one of the experiments on Cluster that is that it is used to study plasma is called WHISPER. This is the French-led instrument that measures electron density as the spinning spacecraft sweep around the planet. The faint radio signal that fills our universe is the echo of the beginning of the universe. This signal, called the Cosmic Microwave Background radiation, was first detected by accident in 1964 but has since been measured in detail by a number of experiments. These measurements provide a rich information set that enables us to determine how the universe began, how galaxies formed and what the eventual fate of the universe might be.

Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, Edward Longo spent his youth in Cheshire. It was only after this laborious process of working with his hands that he became interested in painting. Prompted by the inspiration of a friend, he became convinced to make his bold move to New York City. Edward Longo’s paintings are combinations of spontaneous inspiration, emotional freedom and daring color explorations. His work displays the attention to intense colors and geometric shapes of Abstract Expressionism, while exuding the Romanticism and Impressionism. Longo currently lives in New York City.
