AIA Michigan and PCIA Team Up To Help Design Firms

PR Log (Press Release) – Mar 17, 2009 – The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Michigan (www.aiami.com) announced that it will be offering its members access to an exclusive Health Insurance Trust with medical, prescription drug coverage and dental insurance in a plan designed to meet their unique needs.

“This partnership with PCIA (Professional Concepts Insurance Agency) is a great opportunity for us to help our members in this tough economy,” said AIA Michigan Executive Director Rae Dumke.  “This program enables member companies to fulfill a need by providing competitive health insurance to their employees.”

Administered by PCIA Agency Services, this program offers flexible plan choices, including traditional PPO and consumer-directed plans, and cost-saving, consumer-directed options, such as health savings accounts (HSAs).  

“We are hopeful that the buying power of a larger group such as AIA Michigan, with many member employers statewide, will lower overall costs to individual firms,” says Kim Fricke-Young, CEO of PCIA.  “The economy is tough right now.  This program can help architectural firms and their employees.”

AIA Michigan appointed three trustees to oversee the program:  Eric Geiser, AIA, Vice President of TMP Architecture; Dennis King, FAIA, Corporate Chairman and CEO of Harley Ellis Devereaux; and Steve Whitney, FAIA, President and CEO of Albert Kahn Family of Companies.
