Era of the Wolf? Author Publishes First Book, Hoping To Re-ignite The Wolfen Genre

The book marks a change in werewolf horror, not following the usual pattern of romance or gore, but having a subtle balance between both, and including more of the original werewolves of legend. The twenty-one year old wrote it over two years, after deciding to start a writer’s career while still young, having wanted to write a book since a young age; and getting sick of the cliché werewolves in today’s modern films and books.
   
“I’ve always felt that the werewolf genre is highly underrated.” comments Miranda Stork, when asked about why she wrote the book, titled ‘Conner’. “Vampires get a great press, whereas werewolves never do. I was always obsessed  with werewolves-I just thought it was time someone wrote a book that would make them come out on top for once.”

Writing the book in chapters on writing community site, Storywrite.com, Miss. Stork wrote the eighty-seven-thousand word book while still doing her usual proofreading job. The book, ‘Conner’, involves a young psychologist, Erin, who gains a new patient named, Conner. His case is very different for her, as he believes he is a werewolf-a thing of legend. Over the course of the book, he must prove to Erin that he is indeed the furry creature of the night, all while she struggles to come to terms with her own sanity, and past.
   
The book will be coming out on paperback and e-book format at the end of May, 2009, on Lulu.com itself, along with Amazon and other online retailers.
