Lower Cost Anti-Aging Moisturizers vs. Higher Quality Concentrated Moisturizers

March 17, 2009 - PRLog -- Is it really more cost effective to purchase low-cost moisturizers?  You can go to the drug store today and purchase 2.5 ounces of unbranded moisturizer for approximately $7.  The more upscale brands will be approximately $45 or more for the same amount.  Is there value in purchasing the more expensive brands?

Let’s first look at the quality of the product.  Many top brands are produced in small batches with all natural ingredients to preserve the integrity of the ingredients.  Many experts, including nutritionists agree that whatever you put on your skin gets absorbed into your body’s system much like the food you eat.  Therefore, putting good quality all natural products on your skin, which is your largest organ, just makes sense.  

The lower cost moisturizers have preservative s that allow the product to stay on the store shelves for up to 2 years or more.   The controversy with how many preservatives we eat on a daily basis is ongoing, suggesting that we are loading our bodies with toxins on a daily basis.  The preservatives that are in the lower cost moisturizers are being absorbed through your skin and are being deposited in your body the same way the preservatives that you eat are.

Many of the higher quality brands of moisturizers are highly concentrated.  You only need to use a dab approximately half the size of a dime to cover your entire facial area.  This means that a 2.5 ounce jar of moisturizer of the highly concentrated variety will last approximately 4 to 5 times longer than the lower cost moisturizer.

Where is the true value then?  A higher quality moisturizer that is concentrated and is made from all natural ingredients is by far the best choice for overall healthy skin care.  The overall cost is comparable, however, the real value is in the advantage of feeding your skin healthy products, which means you will not be depositing more toxins into your body that it must then find a way to flush out.
