Archeological Studies: Between the Mountains, Beyond the Mountains

Archeological Society of New Mexico (ASNM) Meets in Taos, May 1-3, 2009

March 16, 2009 - PRLog -- The Taos Archaeological Society hosts the annual meeting for of the Archaeological Society of New Mexico.  Held the first weekend in May, the conference is titled "Between the Mountains, Beyond the Mountains" and includes papers on archeological studies, a Saturday evening banquet and keynote speaker, and a selection of field trips to local sites of interest.  

The conference will draw participants from affiliate societies throughout New Mexico as well as El Paso, Midland and Lea County, Texas. Registration and reception begin on Friday, May 1, with paper and poster presentations throughout Saturday, May 2, culminating with the Bandelier Lecture “Back Where It All Began: Ancestral Puebloan Development in the Northern Rio Grande Valley of New Mexico” presented by Steve A. Lakatos.

Saturday papers and poster presentations held at the Don Fernando Hall, Taos    Convention Center, Civic Plaza Dr.   Saturday Dinner and Bandelier Lecture is slated for  the Sagebrush Inn.
