Tea tree oil is extracted from the leaves of the Melaleuca Alternifolia which is native to the northeast coast of New South Wales, Australia. In more traditional medicine, tea tree oil was inhaled to help ease sore throats and coughing. It was also smothered on wounds to help heal quicker. In modern day medicine, it is still used for healing. Tea tree oil is great for organic healing in terms of being: antibacterial, fungicidal, virucidal, sudorific, and reducing inflamation from acne.
