It seems like new fashion designers have been popping out of the woodworks and into your most trendy boutiques. Who are these wannabe Donnatella’s, and are they creditable? Newcomer Chanin Richel wants prove to US fashion capitals and one day the world that she is the real deal! Her designs for SPRING 2009 are flirty and feminine, reminiscent of an era when women dressed like women. Having mastered the “dress”, you will see some form fitting silhouettes, some flowing materials and bright pastel colors, which are sure to make a splash on the streets. The designs are classic while the fabrics are ultra modern. “I design clothes that can be worn to the office as well as the social scene,” says the Creative Director and CEO.
The company, Chanin Richel (pronounced Shanin Rishel) began in 2002 out of her home. Along with designing, a line of beauty products and philanthropist can be added to her list of credits. She has given back to the community through clothes drives, donations to the Atlanta Hawks Foundation, Hope Sustains Life elementary school in Haiti, partnering with the YWCA of Atlanta (with a focus on rape & abuse), speaking at inner-city high school pep rallies in her hometown of Richmond, Virginia, and giving scholarships to students wishing to pursue a college degree in the area of Fashion Design just to name a few.
This woman has big dreams and doesn’t plan to slow down anytime soon. I predict within the next year Chanin Richel will be the one stop hot spot for fashionistas!
