Inmarsat satellite deal enables ResQ to deliver Mission Critical tracking

March 13, 2009 - PRLog -- Chad Hughes, President and CEO of ResQ Track & Trace, proudly announced today a new partnership with Inmarsat enabling his company to deliver mission critical tracking in areas not covered by terrestrial networks across North America.  Inmarsat own, operate and control 11 satellites orbiting 35,000 kms above earth.  ResQ is Canada’s leader of GPS-enabled tracking solutions, and recently partnered with Microsoft to provide multiple financing options to clients.

Satellite delivery provides complete visibility throughout the supply chain regardless of physical location, improving the safety and security of remote personnel and mobile assets where cellular networks are unreliable or non-existent.  “If a satellite can track a turtle today swimming across open oceans,” explains Hughes, “then we're quite confident those customers who need real-time location-based asset tracking have come to the right place.”

Augmenting faster forwarding rates, quicker responses to polling requests and shorter time to first transmission, Hughes says additional benefits to the Inmarsat alliance include seamless coverage, dependable roaming, and predictability for application management and control.  

“The turnkey ResQ system can now automatically relay data from anywhere in the field via satellite between the vehicle and the operation center,” adds Hughes. “With this deal, we have also addressed the cost concern for managers required to optimize two-way fleet operations, by carefully reviewing the competition and selecting Inmarsat as a partner.”

ResQ has enjoyed considerable growth over the past year by expanding its office into Toronto and pursuing new vertical markets.  The ResQ offering is targeted to logistics managers who not only need to ensure fleet efficiencies but also reduce waste and theft, while also monitoring speed and fuel consumption of vehicles, as well as engine diagnostics.  “In this economy,” concludes Hughes, “our system’s biggest benefit is maintaining competitiveness for our customers.”

The turnkey ResQ tracking system includes a bolt-on piece of blackbox hardware (a GPS modem), software that enables managers to view assets on a map, and wireless data transmission capacity.  “When coupled with the Microsoft financing deal,” concludes Hughes, “now my sales team can discuss and offer a state-of-the-art system with no upfront capital to a potential client, based simply on the number of units required over any number of years.”
