Absinthe has been considered a mythical libation, the elixir of artists, the toast of poets and the bane of governments.

Coming this March to the LCBO is Sirène Absinthe Verte, a complex, rich spirit crafted by an award-winning American artisan distillery. Sirène Absinthe Verte is the first U.S-made absinthe available in the Midwest since the spirit was banned in 1912.


Sirène is made with the traditional trinity of absinthe botanicals - anise, fennel and grand wormwood, along with a propriety blend of additional herbs to create richness and depth. Sirène embodies the rich traditions of absinthe, and is handmade with exacting precision by North Shore Distillery in Illinois . Let Sirène’s beautiful nuance, flavour and aroma tempt you.

Enjoying Sirène Absinthe

Absinthe is traditionally enjoyed in a drip. Pour about an ounce and a half of absinthe in to an absinthe glass or wine glass. Then place an absinthe spoon on the glass and place a sugar cube (optional) on the spoon. If you do not have an absinthe spoon, you can use a slotted spoon or add a dash of simple syrup. Then drip ice cold water over your sugar cube and into the absinthe. You can use an absinthe fountain or simply a carafe of ice water. We recommend having your first drip with three parts water and one part Sirène. Then adjust the water next time to your personal taste.
