DRIVE RSTC, INC. To Present To The California 12th Congressional District Citizen Oversight Panel

SAN FRANCISCO, California, March 12, 2009 DRIVE RSTC INC. announced today that efforts to secure federal grant funding to construct the first Road Safety Training Center (RSTC) in the United States are bearing fruit.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Mar 13, 2009 – Road Safety Training Centers are designed to teach the general public and commercial drivers how to avoid experiencing a motor vehicle accident. RSTC training methods are statistically proven to reduce auto accidents. DRIVE RSTC, INC. was formed to bring these programs to the United States were they are currently not available. In an ongoing effort to fund construction of the first RSTC facility in the U.S. company executives recently submitted a federal grant appropriations request to the office of Congresswoman Jackie Speier. We are pleased to announce that we have been invited to present to the Citizens Oversight Panel. This panel represents Jackie Speier’s 12th Congressional District of California located in the San Francisco Bay Area. The presentation date is Wednesday March 25, 2009, and the public is invited to attend. For further details visit Congresswoman Jackie Speier’s website: http://speier.house.gov/

Congresswoman Speier has asked a prestigious panel of business, labor, community and government leaders to review all requests for funding received by her office for fiscal year 2010. Chairing the panel is Stanford Law Professor Lawrence Lessig. He is joined by Peter Altman, CEO of BioCardia, Inc; Harold Brooks, Director of the American Red Cross of the Bay Area; Ed Everett, Retired City Manager of Redwood City; Don Griffin, Chancellor of City College of San Francisco; Rod Hsiao, San Mateo County Board of Education; Rose Guilbault, Vice President of AAA of Northern California; Mark Laret, CEO of UCSF Medical Center; Justice Harry Low, retired California Appeals Court Judge and former California Insurance Commissioner; Gene Mullin, former state assemblyman; Bill Nack, Business Manager of the San Mateo Building Trades Council; Louise Renne, former San Francisco Supervisor and City Attorney; Marland Townsend, former Foster City Councilmember; and Jim Wunderman, President and Chairman Emeritus of the Bay Area Council. DRIVE RSTC, INC. Managing Director, Robert J. Cole, will be presenting to this panel.

About the Citizen Oversight Panel as explained by Congresswoman Speier, “I have called on some of the best and brightest to help me bring full accountability and transparency to this process,” Speier said. “For too long, politicians have used earmarks to reward campaign donors, friends and family members. I have no desire to participate in that practice, but at the same time, residents of the 12th congressional district pay a lot of money in taxes and there are vital worthwhile projects here that deserve to be funded. This panel opens up this often secretive process to the light of day for my constituents, the press and the whole world to examine.”
