8fish Awarded 2008 Silver Davey Awards for Website Design, Editing, Graphics and Cinematography

March 11, 2009 - PRLog -- 8fish, a creative production studio, received a 2008 Silver Davey Award in website design for Maverik-KickStart.com, and an additional Silver Davey Award in editing, graphics and cinematography for Maverik Kick StartTM “Ops Gear” episodes one and two. The Davey Awards honor the creative excellence of smaller agencies and companies worldwide.

Produced by 8fish, Kick Start is Maverik’s high-flying, on-the-edge weekly reality show. The show promotes the Maverik convenience store chain by cleverly blending advertising with entertainment, involving brands and products that are complementary with the show’s adventure-related theme.

“Kick Start blends advertising with entertainment by involving brands and products that are congruent with the entertainment,” says Ernie Harker, Kick Start producer and President of 8fish. “It makes for better advertising because we see the brand or product as part of the entertainment instead of an interruption.” A variety of sponsors teamed up with Maverik to produce the 20 episodes that make up a full season. In return, each sponsor received valuable product placement during the show.
