SPRING ARBOR, MI –– Spring Arbor University is launching a new program – an Associate of Science in Business Degree (ASB) – beginning in the Fall of 2009. It will provide an education with a strong liberal arts foundation, basic business skills and knowledge, and a transformational learning experience grounded in the Christian faith. The 62-credit degree takes about 24 months to complete.
Spring Arbor University (SAU) is a Christian liberal arts institution with a campus in Spring Arbor near Jackson. It has 12 regional sites throughout the state and in Ohio, and an online learning community. Classes are scheduled to begin at Spring Arbor University’s Lansing site in September and at other sites throughout Michigan during the 2009-2010 academic year.
“Spring Arbor University is known for its innovative programs that prepare adults for further education or career enhancement,”
While SAU already offers accelerated business-related programs, the new program is ideal for students who currently lack formal education, but wish to pursue the foundation for a business career or to complete a bachelor’s degree.
Overton-Adkins explained that two groups of students can benefit from the ASB: those with no degree can earn a strong credential to improve their marketability in this economic downturn; and it leads others to one of several SAU bachelor’s degree programs with a business focus.
Founded in 1873, Spring Arbor University started Michigan's first adult studies programs in the early 1980s. Since that time, the University has helped thousands of working adults improve their quality of life.
