PRLog (Press Release) - Mar 12, 2009 -
MUNDELEIN, Ill., Manfredi & Associates, publishers of Machinery Outlook Europe, recently released its annual European Construction Machinery Market Forecast.  It predicts that 2009 European construction equipment retail unit sales will decline sharply with a slight recovery beginning in 2010.

The Forecast details European construction machinery retail unit sales levels for 15 European countries and for nine construction equipment product markets. The report analyzes the industry outlook for 2009 and provides a detailed forecast for 2010-2011. The retail sales levels for all product categories is trending down, reflective of the continued weakness in residential, non-residential construction and mining segments.

”Our analysis predicts 2009 to be a year of transition for European construction equipment retail unit sales, with markets down approximately 33 percent due primarily to the slowdown in most European economies and continued stagnant residential and non-residential construction,” said Frank Manfredi, President. “We expect 2010 to show some increases.”

Compared to 2008, the following product segments are showing decreases ranging from 4.1% to 57.1%:  articulated dump trucks, rigid dump trucks, crawler excavators, backhoe loaders, mini excavators, wheeled loaders, mini excavators, wheeled excavators, skid steer loaders, compact tracked loaders and telescopic handlers.

The Forecast includes four years of historical data and the following sections:
•   European Construction Industry Outlook – analyzes overall market
•   Forecast for Individual Counties – Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and the U.K.
•   Estimated European Retail Unit Sales of Construction Machinery – categorized by county and product category

The 2009 European Construction Machinery Market Forecast is $550.  The report is ideal for executives, management, strategic planners and decision makers as well as companies engaged in sales or distribution of construction machinery and related equipment. The 2009 Forecast for the United States is also available for purchase.
