PORTLAND, OR. – Audinate is pleased to announce that Whirlwind has added Audinate’s Dante™ networking technology to it’s PXP (Protocol eXchange Platform) line of products. The PXP, Whirlwind’s first Dante-enabled product, allows users to seamlessly convert digital audio signals on Dante networks to and from other networking formats. There is no loss of audio quality because no D/A or A/D conversions are required. Dante-based PXPs are available now from Whirlwind.
“We are excited to offer our customers the ability to add Audinate’s Dante audio networking capabilities in the PXP,” stated Michael Laiacona, President of Whirlwind. “We now can offer customers with existing networks, the flexibility to expand their installations using Dante.”
Audinate’s Dante technology provides a no-hassle, self-configuring, plug-and-play digital audio network that uses standard Internet Protocols over 100MB and/or Gigabit Ethernet. Dante combines industry-leading low latency and sample-accurate playback timing with the convenience and economy of using today’s standard computer networking hardware.
“Dante simplifies network installations and expansion. We are very pleased that Whirlwind has added Dante into their PXP platform,” added Lee Ellison, CEO of Audinate. “Whirlwind provides our customers an effective migration path to implement Dante for their digital audio network.”
