March 9, 2009 - PRLog -- In the midst of her daily routine, this stay-at-home, home schooling mom got fed up.  Not with her chores, but with the way Washington runs.  “I was sick to my stomach at the thought of the debt we are taking on.  We’ve been studying early American history with the kids and I thought – why not make government sit up and take notice again”, said Mindy McAlindon.
The next day Rick Santelli, from CNBC, gave his now famous rant on the CBOE.  It was then that McAlindon decided it was time to jump.  With the help of a small website company, she design and developed the site in four days.
The site, www.TeaToDC.com , is a call to action.  It asks people to participate in the tea revolution, just like the colonists did in 1773.  Participants purchase a tea bag and customize their message to the Administration.  All the tea bags will be mailed at one time to arrive in Washington on April 15th.  In addition, each participant will receive a Love Your Country Bumper Sticker.  Part of the $5 proceeds go to one of four charities and the rest goes to fees, product costs, shipping and handling.
The tea parties that are popping up around the country are a great opportunity to make your opinion known.  “Thousands of people are excited about these tea parties, but many people can’t attend.  This website gives people the chance to stop being a silent majority and let their voices be heard!  It’s a great compliment to the protests.  Whether or not you can make it out to a tea party, sending a tea bag is a great way to participate, “said McAlindon.
