Remember those old time radio programs, The Maltese Falcon from 1946 and The Shadow from 1938? Well, now you can re-live the mystery and suspense of these shows at a program at Oliver Wolcott Library. Local Litchfield actors and actresses, including Peter Tavino, will perform staged readings of episodes of The Maltese Falcon and The Shadow. Let your imagination see the action based on the audio sounds the players will project into the microphone.
In The Maltese Falcon, a private detective’s partner is murdered, and he soon becomes involved with murderous adventurers who are trying to obtain a jewel-encrusted statuette of a falcon that is worth millions. In The Shadow-The Blind Beggar Dies, a blind beggar dies after he refuses to pay protection money. The Shadow agrees to help a group of beggars who want to find the blind beggar’s murderer.
There will be two showings. Wednesday March 25th or Thursday March 26th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Space is limited. Registration is required. Please note which date you are selecting.
