Mountain Bike Organization Launches New Brand

Overland Mountain Bike Club to Represent Regions Riding Enthusiasts

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Mar 09, 2009 -
FORT COLLINS, CO - The mountain biking organization known as Diamond Peak Mountain Bike Patrol is expanding and will unveil a new brand identity during the club's annual mountain biking kick-off event, March 9th at New Belgium Brewery. Known as Diamond Peaks Mountain Bike Patrol since its inception, the organization chose to develop the new brand, Overland Mountain Bike Club, in order to more accurately reflect the group's commitment to promoting mountain biking as a fun and healthy activity for people of all ages and abilities.
"We are excited about the future of this organization, the enthusiasm and continued dedication of our members to becoming the region's premier mountain biking resource.  This region contains many rich opportunities for people to get out and experience amazing trails.  We want to make sure those trails are available to mountain bikers for years to come", said Barb Allan, president of Overland Mountain Bike Club.

In addition to the new name, the organization will also include a new logo as part of their branding launch. Influenced by the rich history of the Overland Trail, the organization chose to emphasize the name Overland as part of a regional concept defined by the broad brush stroke that forms a horizon over top of the club's logotype. An energetic, circular stroke forms a mountain bike wheel at the apex of the horizon.

"We see this new logo as a symbol of everything that's great about mountain biking. The thrill of what's around every corner, over each hill - that perfect single track ride into the wide open." said Allan.

A significant departure from the previous name, the organization seeks to attract new members who love to mountain bike, who love the trails they ride on, and who want to be a part of an organization that works to make mountain biking a viable recreational opportunity in the area they call home.
Overland Mountain Bike Club anticipates a renewed interest in their organization as they host mountain bike enthusiasts from across Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming next week. The organization will continue to promote mountain biking as well as preserve trails throughout the region. In addition, Diamond Peaks Mountain Bike Patrol will continue to work as a service of the club offering assistance and education to all trail users.   Other mountain biking sub-organizations are planned in the future.

Overland Mountain Bike Club promotes the active, healthy sport of mountain biking by providing education and assistance to all trail users, and by working to build and maintain quality, sustainable trails that enhance the mountain biking experience.

Based in Fort Collins, Colorado, Overland Mountain Bike Club works closely with the  Canyon Lakes Ranger District of the Arapaho-Roosevelt National Forest as well as other Front Range areas such as Lory State Park and Horsetooth Mountain Park. The Club works in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service, Colorado State Parks, Larimer County Parks and Open Lands, the City of Fort Collins Natural Areas, and Wyoming State Parks.
