On Thursday, March 12th, the Philly Beer School officially opens its doors.
“Philly is to brewing as Sonoma Valley is to winemaking,"
“Even more importantly, this city respects the brewer's art," says Dean Browne, the schools lead instructor."
Prior to starting the Beer School, Mr. Wallace created the nationally-recognized Wine School of Philadelphia. Dean Browne is best known for his work as a brewer at the Philadelphia Brewing Company. "I am happy to be working with Keith. I took classes with him at the Wine School. I cannot wait to christen our Beer School," says Dean.
"Dean is one of the most gifted teachers I have ever seen in action. I wouldn't have opened the school without him." says Keith.
Classes for the next several weeks have sold out. The next available class will will be held on Thursday, March 26. That class will be an introduction to Belgian Beers. Following that event will be "Barley Amongst the Vines, the unique beers of famous wine regions" on Thursday, April 2nd. The classes cost less than $40 apiece.
The Philly Beer School is located at 2008 Fairmount Avenue, right beside the Wine School in Philadelphia's Art Museum District. Tickets can be purchased at www.thebeerschool.com.
