About the Ecosystem and Environment:
Magdalena Bay is renowned as an environmentally pristine bay with an outstanding marine ecology, being well known as one of the prime calving bays for the California Gray Whale.
On the layout development of the canals will be executed in an environmentally appropriate manner. This will lead way for the marina that will be located within the proposed canal system and designed in such a manner as to protect the natural environment of the Bay.
Baja California Sur is known for its natural riches and tourism. All development here is going to protect the states several protected natural areas within the development, a great diversity of plant life, much of it endemic to the area. Among the PNAs are the Vizcaíno Biosphere Reserve, La Sierra de Laguna Biosphere Reserve, the Loreto Natural Marine Park, the Biosphere Reserve on the islands of the Sea of Cortez, the Cabo Pulmo Marine Park, the Sand Cascades in Cabo San Lucas and the San José del Cabo Estuary.
