Meadowbrook Golf announces Golf For The Fun Of It, the all adult player development program for golf is moving at full throttle with a class so large they now have three sessions at Ridgewood Lakes Golf and Country Club, a Meadowbrook property located in Davenport Florida. The program now in its second year is a player development program designed for fun, taught by PGA Golf Professionals, and sponsored by Callaway Golf.
Designed by Meadowbrook Golf, this program was built out of the frustration of so many players leaving the game simply because it was not a lot of fun. Meadowbrook Golf spent 5 months planning and building the program with the specific goal of developing a way for adults, who had an interest but no clear path, to join a program that was built with no barriers. The program is designed for the person who may have watched golf for a long time and had interest but did not know the way into the game.
Meadowbrook will roll-out this popular program to its properties in the United States this year. “We spent 5 months building a model from the newcomer’s point of view” says Jack Dillon, Corporate Retail Director and one of the developers of the concept. Jason Dewildt, General Manager of Ridgewood Lakes Golf and Country Club said, “I believe we have only scratched the surface, there are a lot of people who want to learn this great game, but don’t know where to go.”
There are many attributes to this program that are different than so many other player development programs. They include: a key golf brand sponsor, 7 hours of free PGA instruction, a graduation with gifts and a gold membership card providing after program discounts in all areas for the new golfer. In addition, there is a $20.00 player gift certificate that allows the new golfer to play a round at a great rate. With the barriers to entry taken down, this program provides every opportunity to learn this great game while making new golfing friends and learning all the basics of golf; including the golf swing, rules, respecting the course, equipment, and course management. All in all, this new program, “Golf for the fun of it!”, is changing the game and puts the player in the driver’s seat.
