The Durham Arts Council is proud to present a new exhibition of extraordinary fine art quilts organized by Professional Art Quilters Alliance–South (PAQA-South)
Jan-Ru Wan; previously assistant professor at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, and now Assistant Professor at the College of Design at the North Carolina State University, selected 38 works from a pool of 122 entries, received from across the country and around the world. Each work reflects the artist's interpretation of the concept of transition.
From April 17 through June 7, 2009, ARTQUILTStransitions will be showing at the Allenton and Semans Galleries of the Durham Arts Council in Durham, NC, as part of the Durham Arts Council’s rotating exhibitions program. The public is invited to the Artists' Reception on Friday, April 17th, from 5-7 pm during the Third Friday Downtown Durham Art Celebration. The public is also invited to view the exhibition during the Durham Art Walk on April 18th and 19th.
In conjunction with the opening of ARTQUILTStransitions, the PAQA-South Conference S09 will be held on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18, 2009 at the Durham Arts Council, 120 Morris St., Durham, NC.
