The Beatles Jam Set for March 25th.
Fitzgerald's 1928 Tavern, of Glen Ridge, is pleased to announce that it will again be hosting, The Beatles Jam, on Wednesday, March 25th from 9:00-11:30 PM.
Glen Ridge, NJ—March 5, 2009—The Beatles Jam Newswire—When approached about possibly hosting the inaugural Beatles Jam, Paul Brewster, proprietor of Fitzgerald’s 1928 Tavern, had a gut feeling. It was an idea, whose whole premise was based on musicians showing up to play and patrons loving the music and the experience. Brewster knew there was no guarantee for either to succeed. With no track record, his gut believed The Beatles Jam would work.
The Beatles Jam is a unique open mic night where only the songs of the Beatles are performed. Musicians or band’s who sign up to play perform 4 songs. The last half hour to 45 minutes of the night is a jam where everyone sits in and plays. All performers need to bring are their instruments. All amps, microphones, cables and sound equipment is supplied.
When Brewster was mulling over whether to add the Beatles jam to the schedule, he felt that it all started with The Beatles and their music. He knew the four lads from Liverpool, were one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands in the history of popular music. Everyone knows and loves the music of The Beatles.
Brewster also liked what he heard from The Beatles Jam Promoter Vince Cartier. He quickly made an offer to Cartier. Brewster would provide Fitzgerald’s and Cartier would produce the first Jam. If the initial Jam went well, they would talk about adding the Beatles Jam to the monthly calendar.
The Inaugural Beatles Jam in January was a resounding success and Brewster, a man of his word, put The Beatles Jam on the Fitzgerald’s calendar in February and March. His initial gut feeling about the jam is looking like a no brainer.
The Beatles Jam has fit nicely into The Fitzgerald’s monthly entertainment schedule. "We are excited about continuing to host The Beatles Jam.” said Brewster. “This is different than booking an individual or group because you have an idea of their abilities.” He then added, “What has impressed me most about the Beatles Jam has been the talent of the performers who have shown up to play. They have all been very professional in their approach to the music.” He finished by saying, “I guess that has a lot to do with why The Beatle Jams, are proving to be one of the more popular nights of entertainment."
