With economists estimating that small business may be responsible for seventy to eighty percent of new jobs being created from the recently-passed stimulus package, it becomes imperative that business owners are provided with every resource possible to gain the skills necessary to start and grow a successful business. Web 2.0 technology provides those resources in an easy-to-access, low or no-cost environment. The technology includes such tools as: blogs, wikis, podcasts, and social networking sites such as LinkedIN, Facebook, and Twitter. These resources are examples which showcase the way that business is changing in today’s Web 2.0 environment, as all of these tools are available online via the World Wide Web.
Strategic Growth Concepts is participating in this Web 2.0 evolution by providing resources to small businesses via:

In a recent report from the House Small Business Committee (January 14, 2009), Committee Chairwoman, Nydia M. Velázquez, the Democratic Congresswoman from New York stated “As we work to fix our ailing economy, we must not forget that our prosperity begins with Main Street entrepreneurs in communities across the country. If we are going to bring our economy back on track, we’re going to need to promote innovation and job creation for our nation’s small businesses,”
A recent survey by Local Mobile Search, in conjunction with AllBusiness.com (as reported by Opus Research, Inc.) indicated that 59% of businesses surveyed say they do not participate in online marketing. The survey further reported that the reasons most cited were high cost, lack of time and not knowing where to begin. Strategic Growth Concepts is striving to change those results. The firm’s CEO, Linda Daichendt states, “With the largest percentage of businesses today having less than 5 employees and little, if any, startup capital, it is imperative that small business owners are made aware of the wide array of Web 2.0 technology tools and resources available to aid them in growing their businesses. This technology can teach them how to maximize their businesses resources (both human and financial) and provide them with the tools to do so.” Daichendt further states, “Business owners need to be aware that today’s technology allows them to work virtually, from the comfort of their own homes if they like, but yet to perform and appear as if they are a much larger organization. This builds their credibility and enables them to grow their business at a much faster pace.”
As part of Strategic’s effort to educate small business via this technology, the firm has scheduled several upcoming broadcasts on their BlogTalkRadio show, ‘Strategic Growth Concepts for Small Business’.
