Follow on Google News | Musical Interlude at Swansea MuseumSwansea Museum plans a “Musical Interlude” in March, with a new exhibition to feature not only stringed musical instruments from the area, but also music played on those very instruments by talented local musicians.
By: City and County of Swansea The exhibition will not only feature some of the instruments that were made in the Swansea area, but will also feature musicians playing at the Museum during the exhibition period, culminating with a grand concert. The musical events are as follows; Saturday 7 March, 12.30pm Cwmtawe String Chamber Orchestra A local string group based in Clydach playing a selection of light classics. Free Admission. Saturday 14 March, 12.30 pm Bear Bones folk rock Bluegrass with Roland Emmanuel. Free Admission. Saturday 21 March, 12.30 pm Fiddle box Violin and accordion duo. Cyril Wickham with early banjo styles. Free Admission . Saturday 28 March, 12.30pm Dragon Strings Electric string group with music from the shows and classics played as you have never heard them before. Free Admission. Saturday 4 April, 6pm Grand Finale Concert A selection of music played on some of the instruments made in Wales. Premiering Chwedlau’r Mor. A new piece composed by Andrew Millard a local up and coming violinist and composer. Tickets: £5 including refreshments.
