The award-winning, premium housebuilder CALA Homes plans to build 12 new family homes and two one-bedroom apartments on the site of a former petrol filling station, car showroom and workshop on Brickbridge Lane.
With sales running at more than one new home per week on each of its developments, and with overall sales of new homes 17% up on this time last year, senior directors at Birmingham-based CALA Homes (Midlands) have taken the decision to go ahead with the new development, which will be known as Summer Gardens.
Work has just started on the site of the former Wombourne Service Station, with sales of the new four bedroom family houses and apartments expected to commence off plan in late April, as a result of early strong enquiries. A show house is expected to open in August, with the first new purchasers in occupation in their new homes from January 2010.
“We are presently seeking planning permission for a couple of slight changes to the look of the new development, but we will be starting sales in April,” says Darren Humphreys, managing director of CALA Homes (Midlands).
“There has been a slight delay in bringing this development forward, but we wanted to ensure that we got it exactly right.
