If you could take anyone from history on holiday with you, (real or fiction, dead or alive), who would it be and why? This was the question we asked visitors to the website during January and February, with the offer of a prize of a 7 night holiday at one of the three Poitou-Charentes holiday parks owned by Siblu.
There were around 160 people mentioned by those who took part in the competition, but who was the most popular? Here are the top five:
1. Husband - This is either a reflection on the fact that more wives than husbands actually entered the competition, or maybe the husbands had different plans! Either way, the hubby was our number one answer.
2. Family - Despite all the exciting options available, the second favourite option was the family. A sincere gesture of love and affection, or a lack of imagination?
3. Napoleon - Yep the third most popular holiday companion was old boney himself! I suppose he might add something authentic to the Siblu kids clubs, but what would he make of the water slides?
4. Jesus Christ - I suspect you would need to change the nature of your cursing if the big C was sharing your mobile home! Still, as miracles go the water-to-wine routine would come in especially handy for many...
5. Fifth position was a dead-heat between the following:
5.1 Jamie Oliver - Charm and good grub are undoubtedly key characteristics in choosing a holiday buddy, but over-use of the word ‘pukka’ and his liking for motor-scooters could become an irritation.
5.2 Albert Einstein - Nobody likes a ‘smart-alec’
5.3 Mary Poppins - People were thinking ‘looking after the kids’ when they submitted this, but at Siblu you’re sorted on that front. Whichever version of Mary P you choose, she’ll be a good bet at the karaoke...
The competition itself was won by Barbara Smith from Staffordshire in the UK, who plans to take her family to Les Charmettes holiday park, after Judith Chalmers, Jean Remo, Jamie Oliver, Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt all cried off.....
