Nashville’s Audio Video Design Consultants is placing a strong emphasis on green technologies for both home and businesses. The company’s general manager, John Lupear, recently completed training to become a Certified Green Professional by the Home Builders Association of Middle Tennessee. AVDC’s primary focus in the green realm involves the design and installation of control systems for lighting and HVAC systems. Despite serious challenges in today’s building market, green technologies and green certified properties are continuing to grow within the industry. AVDC is looking to position itself as the region’s leader in the technology aspect of green building, and Lupear’s training and certification are part of an ongoing process in that direction.
“Integrating green technologies has been a big part of our company for years,” says Lupear, “and this certification is just one step towards building on that existing foundation.”
In addition to energy reduction in lighting and HVAC systems, Lupear says that newer technologies can also reduce water consumption in sprinkler systems, and further conservation can be found by integrating automated window shades and blinds, especially in hard to reach places. “Even though today’s technology is really impressive,”
