March 3, 2009 - PRLog -- As the Dana Holding Corporation begins the process of moving out of its current headquarters on Dorr Street in Toledo to its existing technical center in Maumee, the company has chosen to sell at a public auction many of the antiques and artwork collected over the years.  Dana has chosen the Pamela Rose Auction Company, LLC, to auction the collection at a very special event to be held at the Brandywine Country Club on Friday, March 13, 2009.

Since 1930 the Dana Corporation has been a part of Toledo, Ohio by employing its people and supporting its community.  Through the years, Dana has also chosen to make itself a part of the arts by its purchases and gifts.  Much of the artwork in the Dana collection has come from well-known Toledo artists like Osthaus, Beckman and Chapman.  Along with these artist and others, the collection includes many fine antiques and other period pieces.

Dana has chosen in the past to adorn the walls and rooms of its Colonial period designed headquarters, so as to share them with visitors and staff. As the new owners of the headquarters facility have elected not to purchase the office furniture, antiques and paintings located in the building, it is choosing to divest itself of collection representing the past, and not perhaps, the future.  By auctioning these items in Toledo, Dana can be seen as truly giving back to its community, by releasing this art back into the hands from which it came. A portion of the proceeds from this auction will go to the Dana Holding Corporation Foundation, which supports many worthwhile charities.

The items to be auctioned include fine art prints and watercolors from great artists such as John James Audubon and Tom Thierry along with well –known local artists Osthaus, Chapman, and Beckman.  The collection contains spectacular period furniture pieces such as a Kittinger mahogany banded sideboard and a Queen Ann style mahogany breakfront highboy. Consider the exceptional Lenox China and Italian made Golden Winslow flatware. The decorative treasures and artifacts from around the world include unique pieces such as Oriental awards, a Spelter “Lion du Pays” statue, a Royal Dalton vase, Dana sponsored racing go carts with Spares, and the highlight item, a 1927 Chevrolet stake truck with only 53,633 miles.

Utilizing the auction method in selling the items allows everyone an equal opportunity to purchase the items.  Auctions deliver to both, the buyer and the seller, speed, convenience and an opportunity to realize a savings for both parties.  Auctioneer Pamela Rose states, "The collection is quite large and extensive, and reflects the Colonial period style of the building”.

Potential buyers for the items are asked to register to bid on-site or online at http://www.PamelaRoseAuction.com.   Bidding will be accepted online as well as in person.  Successful bidders must settle all accounts at the conclusion of the auction.  The purchaser at his or her expense must remove items not later than March 14, 2009 by 3:00 pm. The items may be previewed on Thursday, March 12, for Dana employees and retirees from 4:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m. and to the public 6:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, March 13, 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  The auction will be held at the Brandywine Country Club, 904 Salisbury Road in Maumee, Ohio, on Friday, March 13, at 6:00 p.m.

The Auction is open to the public which is encouraged to inspect and review the items prior to the start of the auction and at previews.  Color brochures and catalogues with more details on the collection are available from Pamela Rose Auctions by calling 877-462-7673.  These materials may also viewed online at http://www.pamelaroseauction.com.
