The Jaipur round of the Tata Crucible quiz was held on 14 Feb 2009 which happens to be the Valentine’s Day. This was the first time Jaipur was hosting this mega quiz. The enthusiasm was reflected by close to a 100 teams that turned out for the quiz. After topping the elimination rounds, the BITSian team joined five other teams on stage to battle it out.
The final witnessed a very close battle till the fourth round of the quiz but in the final round BITSians from Pilani represented by Shailesh Jha & Rishabh Kaul forged ahead to win the title. Shailesh is a third year student at BITS pursuing B.E.(Hons ) Electrical & Electronics while Rishabh Kaul is pursuing his coveted dual degree in M.Sc.(Hons) Economics and B.E. (Hons) Civil.
'Tata Crucible - The Business Quiz' is designed to bring together sharpest young minds in India to take on the heat of the toughest business quiz in India. Youth is a key audience cluster which the Tata Group has been focusing its communication at and Tata Crucible is one of the key initiatives towards this engagement. The name "Crucible" was chosen as it signifies test of fire where-from the individual comes out unscathed and successful if he / she is able to withstand the test of fire.
Tata Crucible Campus Quiz is known to be the highest rated ground quiz and it is indeed a matter of pride that the BITSians from Pilani campus of BITS which is one among the top ranking universities in India today walked away with the Prize money of Rs 75,000/- and a berth in the finals at Mumbai.
