(Spokane, WA) - The Spokane International Airport (GEG) has announced another exciting new air service out of Spokane. Starting June 4, 2009, United Airlines will provide non-stop seasonal service to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport operated by Shuttle America . Tickets went on sale Thursday, February 26, 2009, according to a Spokane International Airport press release.
“It was just two weeks ago that United announced new service to San Francisco, also effective June 4th. This is quite an endorsement for Spokane by United at a time when the nation's economy is in question,” said Rich Hadley, CEO of Greater Spokane Incorporated.
The United Express flight on 70-seat, Embracer 170 jets will depart Spokane at 2:46 p.m., arriving in Chicago at 8:06 p.m. and depart Chicago at 12:20 p.m., arriving in Spokane at 2:12 p.m.
In addition to the Chicago flights, United will continue operating two daily departures to Denver and three to Seattle. On June 4, United will also begin running two daily departures to San Francisco.
“This is especially good news for Star USA. A vast majority of the athletes, officials and fans for the U.S. Figure Skating Championships come from the Midwest and East Coast. Our partners at Spokane International Airport are to be congratulated!
