Underground Printing Launches First Independent Retail Line

PR Log (Press Release) – Feb 27, 2009 – East Lansing, MI -  Underground Printing has just launched its first independent retail line of apparel at the East Lansing, MI.  Located at 209 M.A.C. Ave, the store will carry a unique and diverse collection of officially licensed Michigan State University apparel, as well as some original designs. Their apparel line won’t be just the average University bookstore fare. Looking to stand out in a competitive market, the company will bring a number of unique features to their retail line.

“There are plenty of MSU t-shirts out there, so it is important to set yourself apart and bring something unique to the table,” said Underground Printing co-owner Ryan Gregg. “We’ll be carrying a lot of fitted and hip styles from brands like American Apparel, developing a line of sustainable and eco-friendly products, and generally keeping things fresh with short run designs that can be responsive to the climate on campus.”

Known for the past two years in East Lansing for its custom printed and embroidered apparel, Underground Printing plans to utilize their 35,000 square foot production facility’s capacity restock their shelves quickly with an ever changing array of designs and styles. The company hopes to use this ability to speed product to their shelves in a matter of days to bring a fresh way of thinking about collegiate apparel. “Most retailers pre-order products months in advance, making it hard to respond to trends in fits, styles, and designs,” said co-owner Rishi Narayan. “Our lines can be immediately responsive to those changes in trends and fashions, with new products available in days, not months or seasons.”  Upcoming lines will also feature original Michigan State University student designs and eco-friendly and sustainable materials such as organic cotton and bamboo apparel.
