John Gatto, Executive Director of CCA said, “As a group that experiences social and economic inequality, transgender women are at high risk for HIV, other STD’s, homelessness, and violence. With the support of Winslow Street, CCA is able to enhance the TransCEND drop-in space that offers a safe, confidential environment in which transgender women can create a supportive, empathic, and strong community.”
He continued, “As the community is strengthened, so too is the likelihood of experiencing autonomy, health and dignity – the basic rights of all individuals. We are grateful for Winslow Street’s support in this endeavor.”
The grant will be utilized to fund various capital expenditures that will ensure the ongoing livelihood of the program.
