Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven) Joins European Technology Network

The Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, a world-renowned Belgian university for research and development, has agreed to join the Science|Business Network of prominent European research institutions, in an effort to promote enterprise in science.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Feb 27, 2009 -
This agreement is aimed at improving the dialogue between business and academia in Europe – long identified by experts as crucial to the region’s success in international technology markets.

“It has always been our policy to devote a lot of effort to building active relationships with the various stakeholders in business, says Paul Van Dun of Leuven Research & Development. It is crucial to keep the window to the world open at all times, and feel the pulse of emerging trends or new developments. Developing and maintaining productive relations between academia and industry will in that way not only facilitate the commercialisation of scientific results, but can also lead to a crossfertilisation of science itself.”

Katholieke Universiteit Leuven joins twelve leading European universities in the Science|Business Network. They are the University of Cambridge, ETH-Zürich, Karolinska Institutet, Imperial College London, University College London, TU Delft, Chalmers University of Technology, Politecnico di Milano, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, University of Warwick, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and ParisTech.
