North Carolina Dermatology Associates Announces Opening of Paperless Dermatology Office

Feb. 27, 2009 - PRLog -- North Carolina Dermatology Associates (NCDA) announced its opening at their office located in Brier Creek.  The paperless office will utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) and advanced technology in each exam room to aid in patient education while promoting healthy skincare regimens.

The EHR will have many benefits including further improving quality of care and reducing medical errors. EHRs will also help improve billing accuracy, reduce duplication of services, facilitate clinical trial and improve access to medical records.  An integrated patient portal will allow patients to access NCDA’s staff electronically through secured messaging technology.

North Carolina Dermatology Associates is one step ahead of President Barack Obama’s proposal that the US health care system implement EHR by 2014.  This goal was reached by his commitment to funding in his stimulus package. Reduction of healthcare cost with implementation of EHR has been proposed since electronic processing has been shown to reduce processing claims by half.
