Feb. 26, 2009 - PRLog -- Vellore, Feb 26, 2009: Banyan Solutions, one of the leading providers of customized Master Data Management (MDM), data cataloging and data classification services and solutions, has received ISO 8000-110:2008 Master Data Quality Management certification from the certifying authority, ECCMA (Electronic Commerce Code Management Association).

The ISO 8000 is a series of standards released by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) on data quality, in order to tackle the growing problem of inconsistent & ineffective enterprise data, by providing guidelines to develop quality data, integrate it into existing systems, and maintain its continued accuracy.

The first standard in the series, Data quality - Part 110, Master data: Exchange of characteristic data - Syntax, semantic encoding, and conformance to data specification, defines the basic requirements to be met to ensure master data quality. The ISO 8000-110:2008 describes the compliance requirements necessary for the exchange of master data, allowing organizations to become certified as ISO 8000 Part 110 compliant. Adopting ISO 8000-110:2008, allows the specific requirements of data quality to be verified using a simple computer program.
