IAQ Consultants Singapore Launch IAQ Training Institute

IAQ consultants Singapore launch IAQ training institute to train professionals responsible for ensuring good indoor air quality in indoor environment.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Feb 26, 2009 -
In order to avoid outdoor environmental hazard, human beings whether consciously or unconsciously do spend 90% of their time in indoor environment (e.g. offices, schools, homes, factories, buses, aircrafts etc).

This gives indication that air we breathe in indoor environment must be given due and consistent attention. Exposures to poor indoor air quality (IAQ) do have health and productivity implication.

Reduction in indoor/building occupants’ productivity can occur as a result of comfort problems, ill health and absenteeism due to sickness. This will leads to reduction in company or country economic revenue. Research (for the last two decades) strongly suggests that investment in indoor air quality pays off in occupant productivity and can save billion of dollars for the company.

Motivation

•   World Health Organisation (WHO) guideline (on the Right to Healthy Indoor Air) stated that “Under the principle of respect for autonomy (self determination), everyone has the right to adequate information about the potentially harmful exposures, and to be provided with effective means for controlling at least part of their exposures”.

•   There is need to improve indoor occupants’ health, productivity and also to generate more economic revenue for company and country.

Objectives

•   To provide students with fundamental knowledge of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)

•   To introduce students to the problems associated with Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ), with much focus on IAQ

•   To provide students with fundamental knowledge of building related illnesses, their causes and effects

•   To equip students with skills required to examine particular problems associated with indoor air quality, identify their causes and provide remediation and prevention strategies.
