More worse is they should to put on the exposure suit so that hinder the thermal volatility, and affected the battle efficiency because of the heat energy consumption;
According to the record: in 1989, the United States Navy packed the ice water in the around pocket to decrease temperature. This primitive cooling method is loading with ice water into soft tube and seaming it in the vest. They used a water pump to circulate the ice water. This kind of temperature decrease system also be named individual cooling system. This system enables approximately 2 liter ice water circulations with the pump, and the cooling time approximately to maintain 35-45 minute. This system could match with chemical-proof suit and anti-exposure suit, but because the working time is comparatively short, therefore it had not been use widely.
In 1991 Gulf War period, US military and the Multinational troops entered into the Gulf region. This portable individual cooling vest can be wear next to skin and the cooling system can be put in the knapsack, so it is very convenient for movement cooling. Moreover this system may also put into tank, helicopter, fighter plane and so on. Therefore it will widely used in the air force, the navy as well as the army under high temperature environment, thus maintains the soldier physical strength promotes the battle efficiency.
In summary, cooling system gradually become the new essential equipment for different arms of services, but at present the most cooling types have not able to meet the soldier’s need in the function aspect, free movement aspect, and long working time aspect.
