Sturbridge – OurTvSpace, LLC, announced today it plans to roll out its “Whisper Series” – a collection of artist workshops taking place throughout the year at its new headquarters in Sturbridge, Massachusetts – with the first event pegged as an Actor Fest on March 8, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
OurTvSpace is a new media company whose mission is to build a new Digital Network that creates and distributes quality television on the web through collaborations with the creative community. Its first weekly web series called "Oldbury Hill" launched in Fall, 2008, was a test of the Network’s new programming and content reflecting the New England aesthetic. “Oldbury Hill” is a fictional Town in Massachusetts in which Maggie Phelps, a teenage girl is suddenly transplanted from Beverly Hills, California where she discovers she is embroiled in a centuries old dark secret. OurTvSpace has plans for a myriad of new programs geared toward niche audiences rolling out in 2009! As part of the Company’s plans to create television on the web through collaborative efforts, the Whisper Series is designed to help artists hone their skills and increase their marketability!
Highlights of the Actor Fest includes headshots for each Actor from three different photographers that will be on site on March 8th! Each Actor (available to all Actors) will get 3 Headshots from 3 Different Photographers (for a total of 9). Actors are encouraged to layer their outfits so they can look unique in each Shot. Hair and Makeup Touchup will be available at OurTvSpace!
In addition to the headshots each Actor will score at the Event, the Actor Fest is an all day affair which also includes bonus workshops, networking opportunities, and lunch and refreshments. The bonus workshops include a Drop-In Improv Workshop Led By Impov Guru Norm Laviolette, a talk on the Screen Actor’s Guild in a Nutshell – from an Actor’s POV led by Francine Maria Bouska, Member of SAG, AFTRA, and EQUITY, Audition Tips for Actors by Plymouth Casting (Rebecca Walton and Fran Bouska), Set Etiquette By Veteran Music Video Director Dave Gladstone, a session on Preparing for the Killer Audition – including monologues and preparing for Sides, by Producer/Director Jean-Paul Ouellette (2nd Unit Director on Action Sequences for Terminator) and SAG Actor Skip Shea. And Actor Resume Tips by SAG Actor Becki Dennis!
The Actor Fest is limited to 60 Actors on a first come first serve basis (more may be admitted in the discretion of OurTvSpace).
