FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Feb 24, 2009 -
Nik Kafka, Managing Director, said:
“India is a nation of creative, entrepreneurial and resourceful people - and a society which places a high value on education.

We know that there are people all over India who have the drive and inspiration to originate innovative income-generating initiatives which support disadvantaged schools and their students.

Now, with this competition, we want to help those people turn their ideas into reality.”

Teach A Man To Fish is looking for the most innovative, practical ideas for income-generating activities for schools that will boost their financial resources at the same time as teaching business skills to their students.   Entries will be assessed on the strength of the business concept and the project’s contribution to development.

Winners will be selected by a panel of international judges, with up to five grants of up to $5,000 available for the top entries, along with the consultancy support needed to help turn their ideas into reality.  First round entries must be received before the competition closing date of April 1st 2009.

Organisations wishing to take part should visit the competition website – www.teachamantofish.org.uk/indiagrants - for full details on how to enter.
