Cary, NC-Swank Chiropractic offers AquaMed, a dry hydrotherapy modality, to our patients due to its therapeutic value to those suffering from back and neck pain. AquaMed Dry Hydrotherapy combines “water, heat, and massage” as well as a customizable setting for varying pressures, time adjustments, and speed intervals to fit every patients’ need.
Approximately two to three weeks into a patient’s treatment we will switch them from cryotherapy(
ice) application to heat allowing for increased circulation to the muscles. By complementing the heat with a therapeutic massage feature in the system, patients will experience a reduction in muscle spasm and discomfort. This system also promotes a healthy musculoskeletal system in that it increases range of motion and oxygen perfusion of the tissue; thereby reducing muscular toxins and metabolites. The benefits to receiving dry hydrotherapy along with chiropractic, is the individualized attention you’ll receive to your spine and the surrounding soft tissue.
