Krishnar at the 81st Annual Academy Awards
For the third consecutive year Krishnar Lewis has been apart of the pre-show festivities held at the Annual Academy Awards Ceremonies. During this year's 81st Oscars pre-show the model, singer, actor produced the star studded Movies On-Demand Oscars Pre-Show and also starred on the carpet as a fashion correspondent for the Academy's Fashion Recap Spectacular.
While Krishnar's work as a producer and on-camera talent has been celebrated by members of the Academy and thousands of fans, the Oscars red carpet launch of his Fashion For Awareness Coalition struck the hearts of many celebrities and media outlets who attended Hollywoods biggest night.
Lewis along with a group of peers from the fashion, retail, and entertainment industries introduced the organization to the stars on the red carpet through live digital advertisements and PSA announcements displayed on plasma screens alongside of the red carpet. Fashion For Awareness announced the launch of it's first program, Fashion for RAINN, which is an initiative designed to raise awareness and offer education on sexual assault and the services provided by RAINN (Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network).
Every two minutes someone in America is sexually assaulted. Krishnar become involved in the cause because of a sexual assault crime against a family member. RAINN is the nation's largest anti-sexual assault organization and was voted among the Top 100 charities by Worth Magazine. " I am grateful to RAINN Chairperson Scott Berkowitz, Lynn Parrish, Katherine Hull, and the entire staff at RAINN who work so diligently to provide needed resources for free", quotes the triple threat entertainer.
The live video news release solicited the participation of stars who were on the carpet; inviting them to be photographed in the Fashion For RAINN PSA ad campaigns. In addition to Krishnar, the program was hosted by Fashion For RAINN committee chairperson Lindsay Frumer and campaign creative director & photographer Ryan Kalivretenos. Among the first celebrities to be shot for the campaign are Grammy Award Winner & Hip Hop Icon Common, star of the Hills reality show Audrina Patridge, Grammy Award Winning Producer Jermaine Dupri, television star Fran Drescher, and motion picture superstar Chistina Ricci who is also RAINN's spokesperson.
