Handmade Silk Neckties from NELSON WADE for 2009 Oscars® non-winning nominees
NELSON WADE, designer of fine custom clothing, was asked by Distinctive Assets to provide luxury ties for their 7th annual “Everybody Wins at the Oscars®” Nominee Gift Bag. The nominees will be from 5 major event categories;
Best Actor - Richard Jenkins, Frank Langella,
Sean Penn, Brad Pitt, Mickey Rourke.
Best Actress - Anne Hathaway, Angelina Jolie,
Melissa Leo, Meryl Streep, Kate Winslet.
Best Supporting Actor - Josh Brolin,
Robert Downey Jr., Philip Seymour Hoffman,
Heath Ledger, Michael Shannon.
Best Supporting Actress - Amy Adams,

Each non-winning nominee will receive a personalized NELSON WADE® Italian Handmade Luxury Silk Necktie. On the back of each tie, the words "2009 Oscar Nominee" is embroidered in gold metallic lettering, onto a black suede swatch that is stitched directly onto the back of the tie. This color scheme matches the coloring of the Oscar award; a gold statue standing on top of a black base.
The black swatch is used by NELSON WADE as a distinctive label that is stitched on the inside of all custom suit jackets and sport coats. Typically, the company name is embroidered onto the swatch. However for the Oscars, Myles McKenzie (Creative Director/Clothing Consultant) and Stephen Johnson (Clothing Consultant) decided to use the swatch to personalize the ties and to memorialize this prestigious event for each of the non-winning nominees.
